Multiple Payloads, Multiple Use Cases
The Matrice 400’s strong payload capacity makes it ideal for a wide range of professional applications. With a maximum payload of up to 6 kg, it supports easy switching between single and dual bottom gimbal mounts. It also provides a third gimbal mounting point on the underside for even greater flexibility.
The drone is equipped with four external E-Port V2 interfaces, allowing up to seven payloads to be mounted simultaneously – such as an RGB camera, thermal camera, LiDAR sensor, gas detector, loudspeaker, spotlight, radar, etc.
Depending on the mission, the Matrice 400 can be equipped with the Zenmuse H30 Series, L2, P1, S1 spotlight, V1 speaker, Manifold 3 or even third-party payloads, further expanding its capabilities and fully leveraging the DJI ecosystem.

The Matrice 400’s advanced obstacle detection system combines a rotating LiDAR, high-precision mmWave radar, and color wide-angle low-light sensors, taking detection capabilities to unprecedented levels.
The system can detect even small obstacles, such as high-voltage lines in mountainous terrain — even in darkness. It can “see through” rain and fog to sense its surroundings, providing increased safety in difficult weather conditions.
In-Flight Wireless Video Relay
The Matrice 400 features an integrated image signal relay module. With this configuration, one Matrice 400 can act as a relay drone, flying at higher altitude to provide a signal to a second Matrice 400 operating at a greater distance.
This capability greatly extends the transmission range, making it ideal for search-and-rescue missions as well as inspections in mountainous areas.
